Chapter 1
In Chapter 1 we learn that Atticus’s wife died when Scout was two years old and Jem was six years old. From what we have learned about Scout and Jem so far, which one of the children seems to be more affected by their mother’s passing and why?

Chapter 2
Do you agree or disagree with Miss Caroline’s theory of teaching and dealing with children? Explain your reasoning as to why you think she is a good teacher or not a good teacher?

Chapter 3
Describe Atticus’s parenting style? Does he have a good relationship with his children? Do you think Atticus is a good father to his children?

Chapter 4
Why do you think Scout and Jem are so fascinated yet so afraid of the Radley House? What do you think Atticus would do if he found out the truth about the children’s ‘Boo Radley’ Game?

Chapter 5
What do you think are the reasons behind Jem and Dill’s infatuation with Boo Radley? Do you think that they would really be Boo’s friend if they were to get him out of his house? Why or why not?

I think the reason that miss caraline dislikes the fact that scout can read is because he is black. I also bilieve that she is upset because he has been tought to read with a different curiculume than her's.

I bilieve the reason why jem and dill are so competitive is because they are from different towns and places. Ialso bileive that they are so competitive because they each want to always be right. they are very competitive.

Anonymous said...

I bilieve the reason why some one is leaving gifts in the radlly tree is because some one is trying to be nice to jem, scuote, and dill. the person wants to get to know them better. I also bilieve that the person that is leaving the gifts is mr. radly. he want to be nicer.

Anonymous said...

Chap 7. I bilieive that the person that sewed up jems paints is mr. Radlly.I bilieve that he is trying to be more nice to them becouse he likes them and they keep his happy.

Anonymous said...

I bilieve that the way that MR. Raddly got the blanket on scout without her knowing is very hard to answear. I bilieve that scout was so intriged be the fire that she didnt even notice that she had the blanket on.

Anonymous said...

I think that the punishment for jem is a good punashment. I think that the punashment for jem was very unexpected. It was a big turn of events in the story. I bilieve that the punashment for jem was exceptible.

Anonymous said...

The reason why jem and scoute went to cals church is because atticis was out on bissnuise and they couldnt go to their church becuase cal was blak. I think that they were treated differently in cals church because they are white.

Anonymous said...

I was not serprised with the vidict of the trial. I was not surprised because in that time period blaks were discriminated. the word of a white man was more powerfull than that of a blak mans. because of this I was not surprised about the verdict.

I think that Atticus kept his cool when bob Ewell spat in his face. I also think that it was a very good message to bob ewell that no mater what happened that he would not retaliate to bob ewell. I believe that Atticus did the right thing and was very calm.
